چکیده

The olive fruit fly Bactrocera oleae (Rossi, 1790) poses a significant threat to oliviculture worldwide, despite extensive chemical control measures. susceptibility of (Olea europaea L.) this pest varies among cultivars, with size being key factor interest, as it can be assessed using non-destructive automated technologies. In study, we investigated the oviposition preferences in six Italian tracking fertile and sterile punctures relation diametric growth drupe. Additionally, genetic diversity cultivars SSR markers, aiming uncover potential correlation between variation patterns infestation levels. results revealed that relationship level is non-linear across different cultivars. co-inertia analysis (COIA) performed on datasets possible shared relationships two datasets. This study emphasizes complex diverse nature interaction its host, underscoring importance comprehending develop accurate genotypic-specific predictions models.

Reduction of olive fly, Bactrocera oleae (Rossi, 1790), damage by selecting native and exotic olive cultivars

Olive fly is the most dangerous pest in olive groves worldwide. Therefore the study of the most susceptible and resistant cultivars to olive fly can bring new information to diminish the olive flies harmful impacts. The main goal of the present study is to verify the olfactory response of olive fly to olive volatiles from five native Iranian cultivars (Fishomi, Mari, Rowghani, Shengeh, and Zard...

Adaptation Process of Wild Population of Olive Fruit Fly ( Bactrocera Oleae ( Rossi ) ( Diptera : Tepritidae ) ) into the Laboratory

Wild population of the olive fruit fly (Bactrocera oleae (Rossi.)) was adapted to the laboratory conditions feeding on both olive fruits and an artificial diet. Infested fruits were brought to the laboratory and emerged adults used as the initial generation of the laboratory colony. After eggs were laid into the fruits, they were dissected and first instars were transferred to an artificial die...

Transcriptomic responses of the olive fruit fly Bactrocera oleae and its symbiont Candidatus Erwinia dacicola to olive feeding

The olive fruit fly, Bactrocera oleae, is the most destructive pest of olive orchards worldwide. The monophagous larva has the unique capability of feeding on olive mesocarp, coping with high levels of phenolic compounds and utilizing non-hydrolyzed proteins present, particularly in the unripe, green olives. On the molecular level, the interaction between B. oleae and olives has not been invest...
